Job Summary
This position provides Psychological Services to patients with acquired disability through disease or trauma. The Clinical Psychologist III is responsible for the implementation and evaluation of Psychological Assessments, particularly Cognitive Assessments and Diagnostic Assessments. The position provides therapeutic interventions for individuals coping with losses associated with Cognitive Impairments, and report writing is an integral component of this position. The Clinical Psychologist III will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to improve patient functioning.

This position reports to the Division Manager for the Adult Rehabilitation, Palliative Care and Geriatrics, 2 North/2 South, and maintains accountability to the Psychology Professional Practice Consultant for professional integrity and practice issues.

Regularly stands or walks when performing activities.
Constantly uses fine finger/precision work using hand tools; visual concentration is required to read and interpret drug orders, calculate dosages, ensure medications are dispensed properly, read clinical studies, drug monographs, patient specific laboratory results, and to inspect and check drug amounts/preparations.
A high level of alertness and concentration is required to do this work.
Works under tight time pressures with an unpredictable work pace

Job Qualifications
Graduation with an approved/recognized Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology is required.
Registration or provisional registration with Newfoundland and Labrador Psychology Board is required.
Graduate course work and supervised experience in cognitive and diagnostic assessment and evidence based therapy with individuals and families is required.
Exhibited strong communication, program development and evaluation skills.
Possessed proven analytical, critical reasoning, collaboration, problem solving, decision-making and organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to direct, supervise and mentor students.
Demonstrated ability to effectively translate and communicate knowledge in the specialized area of psychology practice to others.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an interprofessional environment and provide clinical consultation.
Ability to work autonomously, prioritizing caseloads and client needs.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a constructive working rapport with clients.
Demonstrated strong awareness of ethical principles and standards of professional conduct.
A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
