Our client, an innovative national ‘Wholesale Distribution’ leader in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration industry, is seeking to add a talented Purchasing Manager to lead a team of purchasers within the region. The Regional Purchasing Manager supervises and harmonizes the efforts of purchasers to procure products and materials for specified territories. This role entails replenishing a designated range of products to meet the forecasted inventory levels and sales objectives of the relevant Branches within the region.

Responsibilities

  • coordinate, oversee, and regulate procurement activities within the designated region for products, from initial intent to purchase through material delivery.
  • close collaboration between Distribution Centers and Manufacturing plants, serving as a conduit between Manufacturing and Supply divisions.
  • with Sales and Distribution teams to manage inventory tracking data and projections.
  • in the management of Slow Moving/Dead Stock Inventory for specified regions and product lines, engaging with relevant stakeholders to implement inventory reduction initiatives and enhance cost recovery.
  • the expedited processing of pending purchase orders and assist the Corporate Procurement Manager, ensuring timely communication with Branch and Distribution Managers.
  • purchase order claims and contracts to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • measures to prevent and manage excess inventory.
  • with Vendor Management to categorize and optimize procurement processes for enhanced efficiency.
  • refine, and assess purchasing and inventory reports.
  • and issue purchase orders and updates as necessary.

Requirements

  • Exceptional multi-tasking and prioritization skills are absolutely essential
  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree program in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a comparable blend of academic background, training, and practical experience.
  • Over 5 years of experience in industries such as HVAC, Wholesale Distribution, Steel Manufacturing, or related fields, with a primary focus on materials management and procurement.
  • Exceptional negotiation and financial management abilities.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in anticipating sales trends and forecasting demand.
  • Advanced skills in utilizing MS Suite, particularly Excel, and digital tools for demand management.
  • Remarkable organizational and time management proficiencies.
  • Thorough comprehension of fundamental principles in mathematics, accounting, and budgeting.
  • Track record of successfully executing forecasting and demand management strategies.
  • Experience in a high SKU count environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Thorough working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
