Who are we looking for?

GHD's Impact Assessment Group is located across the GTA with staff in Whitby, Mississauga, Waterloo, St. Catharines, and Toronto and focuses on Environmental Assessment (EA) planning, consulting and stakeholder engagement, and post-EA permits and approvals for a variety of public and private sector clients.

We are looking for a well-rounded, enthusiastic, well-organized individual with previous Individual and Class EA planning experience, as well as Community/Stakeholder and Indigenous Engagement experience.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

Reporting to the Impact Assessment Business Group Leader, the successful incumbent’s primary responsibilities will include the following:

  • Supporting and Leading the EA planning process
  • Managing the stakeholder and engagement process
  • Coordinating internal GHD environmental disciplines and external sub-consultants
  • Attending and presenting at client meetings
  • Coordinating and attending public consultation events (e.g., open houses, information centres, meetings)
  • Creating PowerPoint presentations and display panels for public consultation events
  • Preparing and/or reviewing EA and environmental discipline specific documentation
  • Leading EA planning and environmental inputs to proposals

What you bring to the team:

  • A post-secondary education in Environmental Planning, Environmental Policy, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
  • 5-8 years experience
  • Project experience in a variety of public and/or private sectors (e.g., municipal infrastructure, transportation, transit, waste, energy)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work well with people (staff and clients) and a demeanor that reflects genuine interest and ability to assess a situation and consider what people will be interested in/concerned with is required.
  • Fluency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project Powerpoint)
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with Provincial and Federal Environmental Assessment legislation
  • Class G driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
