We are looking to hire an Electricial Project Coordinator, for one of our member companies that services Ottawa, ON.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Electrical Project Coordinator to join our team in Ottawa, Ontario. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating electrical projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. This role involves close collaboration with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure smooth execution of electrical systems projects, including commercial, industrial, and residential installations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Coordination:
    • Assist the Project Manager in defining the project scope, goals, and deliverables.
    • Develop and maintain project schedules, track project milestones, and monitor project progress.
    • Coordinate electrical design, procurement, and installation phases with internal teams and subcontractors.
    • Review and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Budget and Cost Management:
    • Assist in preparing project budgets and cost estimates.
    • Track expenses and prepare regular cost reports to ensure projects are completed within budget.
    • Identify potential financial risks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, schedules, and meeting minutes.
    • Ensure that all project documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and complies with industry regulations and standards.
  • Communication and Client Liaison:
    • Serve as the point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and internal teams regarding project status, changes, and concerns.
    • Facilitate communication between engineers, construction teams, and suppliers to ensure seamless project execution.
    • Attend project meetings, provide updates, and address any issues or challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Quality Control and Compliance:
    • Ensure that all electrical installations are in compliance with local, provincial, and national electrical codes.
    • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality, safety, and progress.
    • Identify and resolve any electrical design or installation issues in collaboration with engineers and technicians.
  • Health & Safety:
    • Ensure that all project activities are carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations.
    • Promote a safe work environment and participate in safety audits and inspections.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in electrical project coordination or a similar role.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, installations, and construction processes.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards in Ontario and Canada.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is an asset.


Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work in various conditions, including construction sites and office environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
