As a Team Lead - Automation Technician you'll be key to driving our fast-paced robotic and automation projects. In our startup environment, you'll combine hands-on technical work with leadership and guiding a team to deliver high-impact solutions. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring projects are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality, while making a tangible impact on our growth and success.
More specifically the role includes but is not limited to:
- Planning daily and weekly tasks for the technician team.
- Committing 50% of time to the assembly, integration, and deployment of projects
- Ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Document issues and provide feedback on all aspects of a project.
- Being the technical resource/point of contact for any issue regarding assembly, integration, testing, packaging and deployment of robotic and automation projects.
- Integration of automation components and configuration of automated systems.
- Conducting analysis of issues, suggesting/implementing solutions and documenting effort to implement fixes.
- Execution of on-site deployment and client support activities.
- Quality control activities prior to shipping customer products.
- Collaboration with the Project Managers to plan resources (timeline, space, deployment schedules, etc)
- Owner of the work space, ensuring it is well-organized and efficient
- Help to implement and enforce health & safety initiatives as well as guidelines
- Continuously improve cleanliness and organization of the space, tools, and parts
- Ensuring efficient cross-departmental collaboration
- Identify the strengths of the team members and encourage collaboration to share knowledge
- Support with hiring, growing and developing a team of passionate, coachable and curious technicians.
- Assimilate well into Vention culture and maintain a positive attitude in the face of obstacles.
- Be the role model for what a great Automation Technician is in terms of performance, time management, skills, knowledge, attitude and work ethic. Lead by example and inspire the wider team to follow you and operate at your level.
- Up to 20% of travel on-site
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a fast-paced work environment
- Technical diploma in mechanical engineering, automation or robotics
- Proactive problem solver, capable of identifying/reporting issues and generating solutions
- Attention to detail in the context of customer satisfaction
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills
