Role & Responsibilities:
The primary role of the Procurement Lead is to manage, monitor and perform the procurement activities of the project on a day-to-day basis and to ensure that the procurement activities are kept on-track and in line with the project schedule. Specific activities include:
- Manage and perform all project procurement activities
- Contractor management of consultants and procurement packages and contracts
- Coordinating with various project personnel, departments and external consultants on procurement related activities.
- Primary interface with North American Supply Chain Leadership, Global Category Management, Regional Category Management and management of deliverables and timelines
- Update and manage project procurement register
- Ensure regulatory and inter-company procedural compliance.
- Ensure the procurement team works safely, striving to achieve triple zero.
- Compliance to Fatality Risk Management System
- Communication of with Standards, Policies and Guidelines with Contractors and Consultants.
Duties:
- Promote innovation and continuous improvement in safety by incorporating highest standards and innovations in new designs.
- Review plans and designs for regulatory compliance and compliance to Company policies, procedures and standards.
- Promote the use and apply Fatality Risk Management and conduct CCVs on a regular basis.
- Promote and adhere to Company environmental and sustainability policies.
Duties:
- Complete, monitor and track weekly all procurement packages in the project procurement register
- Identify and develop the strategy for long lead items and monitor progress
- Manage self-performed procurement activities.
- Generate EOIs, RFQs and RFPs for the current phase
- Coordinate directly with legal to ensure proper reviews are being done
- Coordinate directly with the Asset Management team for mining fleet
- Prepare scopes of work, procurement register, reporting requirements, procurement scope, RFPs, CRAs etc. for the subsequent phase of the project
Duties:
- Review all current and future contracts and complete terms of reference for all key contracts including major milestones, compliance, special conditions, penalties, etc. and communicate them to the project team.
- Maintaining, reporting and monitoring of contractor’s/consultant’s contract compliance to ensure the project’s goals, critical paths and major milestones are achieved.
- Support and Lead Contract Administrator
- Liaise directly with and manage Infosys
- Liaise with Global Category Management, Regional Category Management and North American Supply Chain Leadership to ensure adherence to Global/Regional Agreements and continuous improvements project roll out and expectations.
- Implement the creation and modification of POs to ensure project timelines are achieved
- Regular communication with project team for procurement and contract activities and issues
- Ensuring adherence to quality and procurement standards
- Produce secondment agreements for the project team
- Coordination and regulating various meetings such as project procurement review meetings
- Proactively keep the project team abreast of all procurement requirements
- Work closely with project manager and project controls to achieve project outcomes
Leadership Requirements
- Interacts with project staff, managers, consultants and other company personnel, as required.
- SCMA designation or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years of procurement experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a leadership role.
- Be technically competent and have a good understanding of key business drivers as they relate to procurement and the project.
- Have strong communication and people skills.
- Be focused, clear, and decisive.
- Able to impact and influence to gain the alignment of the project group.
- Ability to effectively establish priorities and accordingly work with and communicate to project staff.
- Ability to work autonomously
