Reporting to the Sr Mgr., IT Enterprise Applications – Solutions and Architecture, this role is responsible for ensuring operations and production critical technologies are effectively architected to deliver ongoing and ever-increasing value to Nutrien’s production facilities.

What You Will Do

  • Function as a technical architect, driving innovation in our Production, Capital, and Safety solutions.
  • Serve as the go-to expert for implementing innovative solutions in Nutrien’s environments, ensuring they are future-proof and maximize lifecycle management.
  • Understand and integrate existing solutions with new ones. Seek synergies and enhance architectural integrity.
  • Design and build functional prototypes, guiding decisions on permanent solutions to ensure architectural integrity and lifecycle management.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of application and integration changes to support innovation and knowledge sharing.
  • Provide support and backup for sustainment teams on delivered solutions and ongoing enhancements to ensure thematic adherence to architectural intent.
  • Collaborate with Nitrogen, Phosphate, Potash, Corporate, and Retail business units to offer technical and functional support, with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Participate in or lead regular meetings with other IT Towers to facilitate the exchange of architectural information, enabling cross-functional data availability and promoting open exchange protocols for a unified Nutrien approach.
  • Guard Nutrien’s assets from threats through architectural best practices. Remain abreast of practical and emerging approaches to threat mitigation. Advise local and adjacent teams on these best practices.

What You Will Bring

  • Accredited degree in Computer Science or similar (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Demonstrated experience in large corporate environments, preferably cross-functional.
  • 10+ years in IT support with coding and architecture background combined with a proven history of leading innovative solution design.
  • Proficient in a variety of full-stack coding languages.
  • Experience in cloud environments and associated technologies.
  • Experience with applications, technology, and architecture supporting chemical production facilities and/or mines.
  • Ability to rapidly prototype innovative solutions or integrations.
  • Provide Business Analysis skills for business interactions. Partner with developers, third-party tool providers, and system integrators for architectural decisions.
  • Keen understanding of architectural synergies and solution design for open integration and full-spectrum application lifecycle management.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation preparation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-solving, mindfulness, and people skills.
  • Strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan and long-term incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our program(s) where discretionary pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.  Details will be discussed through the application process.
