Position Information

The Technical Systems Analyst 2 is responsible for designing information systems appropriate for users' needs and consistent with the overall design of the organization's information systems architecture.

The focus of this position will be on supporting TOH Azure IaaS and PaaS infrastructure and working in a larger team supporting both Azure and on-prem server workloads.

This role will collect and analyze information from system users to formulate the scope and objectives of the system and prepare flow charts, models, procedures, and conduct feasibility studies to design system solutions, estimating the costs of system solutions and preparing project plans to provide input into decisions about prioritizing projects and allocating IT

(Information Technology) resources.

The Technical System Analyst 2 prepares and maintains technical documentation to guide system users and assists with the systems¿ ongoing operation, maintenance, and development.

Basic Requirements

  • 3 year Community College Diploma in computer science or a related field;
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a related role;
  • Expertise in planning, developing, leading, directing, and facilitating all aspects of a project;
  • Able to foresee and plan for long term project outcomes;
  • Exceptional leadership and organizational skills;
  • Ability to make appropriate decisions in stressful situations;
  • Ability to develop solutions to issues with highly complex systems in a crisis situation, identify root cause, action and communication plans, as well as impact resolution options;
  • Experience in the assessment, analysis, development, documentation and implementation planning of changes, including the evaluation of risks to the integrity of specific systems;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are important for collaborating with colleagues and clients, as well as for documenting procedures and training material;
  • Ability to keep up to date with emerging technologies, trends and be able to adapt to the Hospital changing needs;
  • Experience with Office 365 and collaboration tools;
  • Understand Information Lifecyle Management;
  • Experience with Service-Now;
  • Eligible to work in Canada.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Azure administrator should have a solid understanding of Azure services, such as compute, networking, storage, security, and identity.
  • Azure administrator should be able to deploy, manage, and monitor Azure resources using various tools, such as Azure portal, Azure CLI, Azure PowerShell, Azure Resource Manager templates, and Azure Policy.
  • Azure administrator should be able to configure and manage virtual machines, virtual networks, storage accounts, Azure EntraID, and other Azure resources.
  • Azure administrator should be able to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Azure resources, performance, connectivity, and security.


In addition, this position should have skills in on-prem infrastructure technologies like:

  • VMware server virtualization in a large environment:
  • VMware Architecture/Design
  • VMware ESX and Horizon Administration & Support
  • Strong command line knowledge, PowerCLI, esxcli.
  • Shared storage (block and file devices)
  • Enterprise data protection tools:
  • Antivirus and malware protection
  • Security best practices
  • Windows Server 2016 and above:
  • Print Services
  • File and Quota Services
  • Performance and optimization
  • Active Directory and Windows Domain services:
  • AD administration, architecture and design
  • DNS/DHCP Services
  • Group Policy Management
  • Enterprise CA PKI services
  • Strong scripting skills such as PowerShell


The successful candidate should also be familiar with the following:

  • NIST CSF framework of security controls
  • Cyber Incident management process
  • Industry certification or equivalent experience;
