HSE COORDINATOR – GRANDE PRAIRIE (GPC)
The HSE Coordinator will report to the HSE Manager and will be responsible for assisting Base Management and Department Managers, in all respective Health and Safety issues.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that Trican's core value, "Safe equipment and operations" is the priority in all activities
- Be familiar with all Workplace Safety, Environmental, National Safety Code, Trican Well Service Ltd., government, client policies and regulations
- Ensure all Workplace Safety, Environmental, National Safety Code, Trican Well Service Ltd., government, client policies and regulations are being followed at all times
- Interact with workers on a professional level identifying both safe and at-risk behaviours on a daily basis.
- Identify unsafe conditions and ensure they are corrected in a timely fashion or are logged in Trican’s Corrective Action log
- Conduct base and worksite inspections
- Assist in incident investigations to determine root causes while assisting management with corrective measures for incidents that take place
- Aid drivers in National Safety Code Compliance
- Assist and work with management and operations to ensure equipment meets regulatory and policy requirements
- Participate in safety/operational meetings, review base safety records, and suggest positive changes to policy and procedures
- Lead by example in all aspects of safety including the use of PPE, driving habits, and adherence to safety policies and procedures
- Participate in other safety audits, as required
- Handle sensitive or difficult issues with grace and confidentiality
Experience & Skills:
- Valid Driver's licence is required
- Minimum of three (3) years industry experience is required
- High school diploma is required
- Safe driving skills; driver’s abstract will be requested
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to interact with all levels of employees, management and customers, in a pleasant and professional manner
- Sound analytical skills
- Strong organization skills; able to follow a systematic method of performing a task
- Ability to apply problem-solving techniques to complications that may arise
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Ability to prioritize multiple activities within tight deadlines
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly with high attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office desktop applications

Working Conditions:
- 10 days on/4 days off
- On call 24-hours during shift
- Must live near base of employment
