Position: People Manager, B2C
Reports to: Director, B2C Partnerships Performance
Position Term: Full Time Permanent
Primary Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada

Job Purpose
Supporting the Business to Business (B2C) team and reporting to the Director, B2C Partnerships Performance, the People Manager ensures that the teams are adequately staffed with high-talent individuals.
They are responsible for the daily well-being of the teams and are measured directly by the level of engagement of the staff. Using their knowledge of omni-channel marketing, personal coaching, prioritization, and conflict resolution, the People Leader will ensure that team performance is optimal and consistently improving based on data and individual growth.
In conjunction with People & Culture, they are accountable for defining and managing personal and career growth plans for each member of their team. Representing the priorities of the organization, the People Manager B2C supports the overall vision for the Corporate and Church Engagement Ministry at World Vision Canada (WVC) by nourishing team growth, managing morale, education, risk, and providing ongoing mentorship and acting as the ambassador of organizational priorities to the staff.

Duties And Responsibilities
Management
- Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.
- Act as primary escalation point for reporting staff.
- Work with People & Culture staff to recruit, interview, select, hire, and employ an appropriate number of employees.
- Provide oversight and direction to the employees in the operating unit in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.
- Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals.
- Partner with leaders across the department to deliver regular feedback to staff
- Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members that allows for disagreement over ideas, conflict and expeditious conflict resolution, and the appreciation of diversity as well as cohesiveness, support, and working effectively together to enable each employee and the department to succeed.
- Lead employees to meet the organization's expectations for productivity, quality, continuous improvement, and goal accomplishment.
- Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition, rewards, and disciplinary action, with the assistance of People & Culture, when necessary.
- Maintain transparent communication. Appropriately communicate organization information through department meetings, one-on-one meetings, and appropriate email, IM (Instant Messaging), and regular interpersonal communication.
- Manage inter- and intra- team conflicts through direct issue resolution approaches.
- Manage change within teams such as restructures, new team members, process updates, etc
- Gather and review Our Voice for staff
- Gather and review 360-feedback for staff, with a focus on bias-free input.
- Identify data-driven opportunities and critical insights.
- Deliver team performance reports, where appropriate, based on a defined cadence.
- Gather and provide internal reports on operational efficiencies and optimizations.
- Partner with organizational leads to ensure resource alignment where appropriate.
- Develop and present proposals, and recommendations to Directors
- Ensure in-market alignment, and knowledge sharing throughout the organization, and global partnership where appropriate.
- Stay current with industry trends, direction, and opportunities.
- Must be able to work with business stakeholders at various levels to translate client business requirements into technical solutions.
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert for the business processes and day-to-day support.
- Manage and lead key meetings, including business discussions and team meetings, where appropriate.
- Seeks and promotes the digitization of processes that leads to cost efficiencies.
- Through their work and role, generate fresh perspectives and approaches.
- Seeks new opportunities to improve business outcomes using innovative (unique/original/untried) approaches to overcome obstacles and surpass performance.
- Continually seeks and identifies areas for improvement.
- Challenges self and teams to improve processes, reduction of backlog or wait times, increase response times and the reduction of non-value-added time.
- Consistently strives to eliminate organizational technical debt.
- Degree/Diploma in Business, Marketing, Media, or similar discipline. (Preferred)
- 8-10 years of relevant experience in Marketing / Media
- 5+ years experience in people management
- Proven ability to successfully lead and develop teams.
- Ability to lead by example, motivate teams, problem-solve, promote cross-functional collaboration and teamwork.
- Understanding of web/mobile landscape
- Experience working directly with internal/external clients in a face-to-face environment.
- Experience working with and managing agencies and external vendors.
- Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
- Superior interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of development process and project management is an asset.
- Understanding and experience working with/in Agile methodology is an asset.
- Experience in change management is an asset.
