Airswift is seeking a Project Controls Coordinator to work with one of our clients in the oil and gas industry in Calgary or Edmonton, AB on a 12-month contract.

The Project Controls Coordinator (PCC) is responsible for development and implementation of project controls planning, and oversight of all project controls cost deliverables for assigned projects within the Major Projects business unit.

Accountabilities

  • Lead and coordinate development of overall Project Controls Plan.
  • Coordinate the collection of project estimates and establish baseline budgets.
  • Support project change management through identifying project changes and working with Control Account Managers (CAMS) to refresh forecasts.
  • Development and maintenance of recurring project controls deliverables including but not limited to:
  • Monthly Project Report - Integrating Cost Control and Scheduling functions into one report.
  • Monthly Project Stakeholder Reports
  • Analysis of forecasts at the WBS level.
  • Earned Value Reporting and Analysis
  • Cost Report and Cost Variance Analysis
  • Cash Flow Report and Variance Analysis
  • Performing quality control on all project control deliverables for completeness and accuracy.
  • Lead the coordinating and collection of deliverables for Gate Reviews
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to project controls and project systems functional groups on actual experiences gained during implementation of new tools, processes, or procedures.
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests in a timely manner.

Working Conditions

  • Office environment
  • Overnight business or construction field trips may be required.
  • Expectation to produce required reports and cost data in a timely manner.
  • Occasional travel to field worksite locations. May require Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, finance, or related technical discipline with industry experience.
  • 10+ years of experience with Engineering and Construction Capital projects.
  • Project Management Professional credential (PMP) is preferred.
  • Ability to be effective within a matrix organizational structure.
  • Familiarity with best practices for project cost control.
  • Ability to understand and implement processes and practices for project cost control.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, EcoSys, Oracle Cloud, and Power BI.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize workload and work independently, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
