As a Green Choice Program Coordinator, on secondment to the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources and Renewables, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of projects in the clean technology and renewable energy portfolio, specifically in wind energy. You are collaborative and engaged in managing and facilitating programs to support Atlantic Canada's transition to a low-carbon future. If you have a background in environmental science/studies, renewable energy, or public administration and enjoy building relationships and coordinating projects, we want to hear from you.

Qualifications

Required qualifications include:

  • Post-secondary degree in environmental studies or science, or renewable/clean energy technology, environmental policy, public administration, or multi-disciplinary studies. Or a relevant combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating, developing, administering, and implementing large-scale, complex programs.
  • Five+ years experience in project management, preferably in clean energy, climate change or related area of focus.
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple administrative tasks related to operating a new and unique program.
  • Motivated to contribute to Atlantic Canada's transition to a net zero future.
  • Excellent organization, communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Independent worker, well organized, self starter.
  • Detail-oriented.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Knowledge or experience in green tariff programs or policies or similar renewable energy programs.
  • Knowledge or experience in renewable energy sectors and markets.
  • Familiarity with Atlantic Canadian energy and climate change policy goals, objectives and programs.
Responsibilities

In this role, you will be seconded from Net Zero Atlantic to the NS NRR Clean Electricity division in the Green Choice Program. The Green Choice Program is a green tariff program for large commercial and institutional energy customers to build renewable energy projects to meet their energy consumption needs.

In this full-time, contract term ending March 31, 2026, you will report to the Senior Analyst, Green Choice Program in the NS NRR Clean Electricity division and be responsible for:

  • Assisting with and supporting the day-to-day administration of the Green Choice Program at NS NRR.
  • Collaborating with key partners such as Nova Scotia Power Inc. and the Procurement Administrator - Coho Climate Advisors for the ongoing delivery of the program.
  • Engaging with various collaborators and partners as needed.
  • Coordinating with approved Participants to communicate, engage and ensure the successful execution of program contracts.
  • Coordinating with approved new renewable energy projects to address any hurdles to project success.
  • Program tracking and delivery, reporting and progress updates.
  • Developing communications resources, tools, and materials to support program operations.
  • Preparing internal decision-making materials such as briefings or PowerPoint presentations.
  • Assisting with policy development.
  • Providing support with the Clean Electricity team programs, policies and initiatives.

  • The annual salary range for this position is $65,000 - $80,000, depending on demonstrated experience and qualifications.
