Envision Saint John: The Regional Growth Agency is the backbone economic development organization helping to accelerate growth for the Saint John Region. Our role is to attract people, visitors, business, and investment. We represent the City of Saint John, Quispamsis, Rothesay, Grand Bay-Westfield, Hampton, Fundy-St Martins and the Fundy Rural District.

As Sales Manager, you will be focused on securing events for the region generating economic impact for the local tourism industry.

What you will do:
As a member of the Growth Team, you will:

  • Drive a sales strategy to raise awareness of the Saint John Region as a preferred location for event planners.
  • Develop business and secure hosting rights for events.
  • Lead generation through researching, qualifying and identifying opportunities.
  • Nurture relationships with current clients and secure new accounts.
  • Build relationships with industry partners including accommodations, venues and suppliers.
  • Participate in industry trade shows, conventions, and sales missions to represent and sell the Saint John Region.
  • Coordinate and host familiarization tours and client site visits.
  • Define critical success factors, monitor progress, and prepare work plans and tactics.
  • Maintaining existing & new event leads and customer account information daily in CRM software.

  • Passionate about selling the Saint John Region.
  • Reputation for fostering strong relationships.
  • Results-oriented with a proven ability to meet sales targets and deadlines, via prospecting and closing the sale.
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills with a proven track record of growing a market and managing deadlines and priorities.
  • Willing to accept flexible working hours/days due to travel and hosting.
  • Known for your collaboration, agility, and adaptability in working with people and projects.
  • Your qualifications:
  • College or University degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Have 5-7 years experience in sales and business development.
  • English - both written and verbal. Bilingualism (French & English) considered an asset.
