JOB PURPOSE

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist is responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging examinations

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary training in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
  • Registered with the New Brunswick Association of Medical Radiation Technologists with certification in MRI.
  • Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
  • Ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Good work record.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist is responsible for:

  • Assessing and preparing patients for procedures
  • Preparing and operating equipment
  • Performing procedures in accordance with standards of practice
  • Assessing images and responding appropriately
  • Using clinical information systems to access and maintain clinical records and documentation
  • Assisting with or performing quality assurance activities/initiatives
  • Providing guidance and support to DI staff, students and other health care professionals.
