About The Role

Graham is seeking a Software Developer to join our team at our Calgary, Alberta location. This is a full-time position based in Calgary with work from home available.

Reporting to the Development and Integration Manager, this intermediate to senior Software Developer position will be a part of a dynamic software development team responsible for supporting Graham by maintaining existing in-house built Services Division software and later transforming the same software into next generation web application(s). Opportunity will be provided to assist the gateway development team in maintaining and transforming an in-house navigation web application.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and supporting multiple Services Division products developed in .NET Framework using C#, Microsoft Windows Forms and .Net Blazor
  • Ensuring your deliverables are high quality, unit tested and prepared for deployment through continuous integration and deployment practices
  • Participating in collaborative work sessions, applying practical solutions to problems and requirements, providing feedback to the planning and execution of your stories and tasks
  • Managing your stories and tasks within an Agile work environment, responsible for providing status at daily stand-ups
  • Provide quick and responsive support to any tickets or issues applicable to the software we develop
  • Capable of working remotely and independently, and within a collaborative team environment

Your Experience Includes

  • Completion of a diploma training program at a college or technical school; degree or diploma in Technical Software, Computer Science, or Software Engineering is preferred
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience; experience with a project-based company is an asset
  • Experience with unit testing, debugging / troubleshooting and strong problem-solving skills
  • Software or application lifecycle experience, including software version control
  • Applications development and deployment experience with cloud infrastructure
  • Time management including estimation of effort, managing of scope, and daily reporting through stand-ups (Agile methodology for managing tasks, effort and reporting.)
  • C# and .NET Framework 4.7 (or later) is a requirement
  • Strong SQL skills (MS-SQL is preferred; Oracle is accepted)

Preference given to those with one or more of the following:

  • .NET Blazor
  • .NET Core 6 (or later)
  • a commercial UI Toolkit library such as Progress Telerik
  • Practical experience with source code management systems (Git.) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Microsoft DevOps
  • JavaScript (more particularly React.js)
  • Full Stack development, working with 3 tier architectures – back-end (data layer), middle (business logic), front-end (user experience & presentation)
  • Service desk processes and support experience
  • Local to Calgary; Local to any Graham office location will be considered
