Under the guidance of senior technical staff, the Software Engineering Intern will support the development and implementation of Technical Applications for the operation and planning of the Lightspeed network.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist in the configuration of a developer environment
  • Assist in the configuration of build and deployment tools
  • Develop software for the planning, operation and capacity management of the Lightspeed LEO satellite network
  • Write technical documentation, including software specifications and design documentation

Education & Experience Required

  • 3rd year Software, Electrical, Communications Engineering or Computer Science, from an accredited Canadian University
  • Demonstrated proficiency with an object-oriented programming language
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Written and verbal skills in English
  • Specialized Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Java, Python
  • Visual Studio Code or some other Integrated Development Environment
  • Unit tests
  • Cloud-native applications
  • Equipment Used
  • Developer-grade laptop with Windows and WSL2
  • Environment: Visual Studio Code, Gitlab, JaCoCo, Sonarqube, Kubernetes

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This role is a Hybrid position where the resource will be required on-site (standard office environment) 3 days per week.
  • A laptop will be provided.

The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods program (CGP).
