About The Role

We’re looking for a Claims Representative III, Investigative Services Unit to join our growing team!

In this role, you will analyze and investigate moderate to high levels of complexity for all lines of business. There will also be a focus on entering data into our metrics-tracker program.

This opportunity can be based in any of the following office locations: Dartmouth, Nova Scotia/Dieppe, New Brunswick/St. John's, Newfoundland.

What You'll Do Here

  • Use our Fraud Detection Software to detect suspicious claims.
  • Review and analyze claims for suspected fraud and determine the type and scope of investigation required.
  • Utilize loss control tools and gather essential information from all possible resources to recommend further investigation or close non-suspicious tasks.
  • Conduct investigations by telephone and using internet technology where required.
  • Document the investigations by collecting and securing proof of fraudulent activities.
  • Analyze gathered information and evaluate evidence.
  • Contact Police departments to pursue further information when necessary.

What You Bring To The Table

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in claims handling experience
  • University degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Natural sense of curiosity, persistence and the ability to conduct detailed research.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid knowledge of insurance trends, developments and current regulations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple stakeholders while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Advanced user of standard desktop tools.
  • Bilingual (French and English) considered an asset.
