Our Business Platforms team is seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst with an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong sense of ownership. This role requires someone who thrives with minimal supervision, is highly independent, and has a curious mind who is consistently striving for excellence.

As a Business Analyst, you will define business requirements using acceptance criteria in Jira and Confluence. You will work in partnership with stakeholders to deliver business value aligned with our strategies. You will write and execute robust User Acceptance Testing to ensure quality deliverables. As an extension of the Product Owner your primary responsibilities include deriving requirements of the intended change through research and your knowledge of insurance products and systems, documenting business flows and associated changes, and conducting UA Testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define business requirements, consulting with additional subject matter experts as required through techniques such as requirement elicitation sessions, interviewing, job shadowing, and documentation analysis.
  • Derive functional and non-functional requirements to deliver business value.
  • Execute requirement plans, manage scope, and oversee requirements throughout projects and system enhancements.
  • Define Value Stream Maps
  • Partner with the Business Systems Analysts to determine system impacts and support flawless delivery.
  • Work closely with Product Owners to ensure business requirements are consistent with the desired changes proposed.
  • Own, prioritize, and implement requirements, provide input into functional specifications, conduct requirement reviews, and obtain project sponsor approval of requirements. Ensure all project team members are informed of requirements and subsequent changes.
  • Assess and validate proposed solutions against requirements to ensure business needs are met and support testing and design activities.
  • Define and Execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT), coordinating and managing defect resolution during project and system enhancement implementations.
  • Execute post-production validations to ensure high quality system releases.


Qualifications:

  • College or University Degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience in Personal Insurance (P&C).
  • Must have experience with Guidewire from an internal user, customer, or analyst perspective.
  • Prior experience with executing User Acceptance Testing is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and facilitation skills, with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly convey information to both the business and technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities while operating independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and release management.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating Business Cases, Business Requirements Documents, Epics, and other business requirement artifacts and testing documentation.
  • Proven experience in negotiating with business stakeholders on functional design issues and detailed solution design sessions.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methods and tools such as Confluence and JIRA.
  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset.


This is a contract role that will go until November 2025.

Salary range: $55,800 - $102,800
