Billing Clerk-Medical

Description

We are looking for a Billing Clerk-Medical in London, Ontario, Canada. The individual will be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely billing processes, processing claim submissions, and handling general accounting tasks. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient customer service and the financial integrity of our operations.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process customer credit applications and maintain customer credit records.
• Handle claim submissions for patient visits covered under various government programs, insurance plans, and third-party insurance providers.
• Generate invoices and manage billing processes for physicians and external organizations.
• Ensure accurate and timely billing processes within the receivable management system.
• Investigate and resolve any patient billing issues by liaising with clinical representatives.
• Assist with cash flow management by monitoring and processing various forms of payment.
• Regularly review aged receivable detail report for accuracy and completeness.
• Contact patients, physicians, insurance companies, and public health program representatives to follow up and resolve the collection of outstanding balances.
• Coordinate with patients or their representatives to complete admission paperwork and calculate monthly payment amounts.
• Administer and monitor patient and resident trust fund disbursements and liaise with Public Guardian and Trustee to monitor patient budgeted allowances.
  
  

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a medical billing role
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required
• Experience with Computerized Billing is essential
• Understanding of Accounting Functions is necessary
• Familiarity with handling Accounts Receivable (AR) is needed
• Ability to track and manage Outstanding Balances and Outstanding Invoices
• Experience with Aged Receivables is crucial
• Proficiency in using various Billing software
• Experience with Billing Collection processes is required
