The House of Commons’ Procedural Services is currently looking to staff the Head, Parliamentary Publications position.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced person to join our Parliamentary Information and Publications team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the creation and ongoing enhancement of our Parliamentary publications. You will ensure the timely and accurate capture of audio and events in the Chamber and in committees, and manage the transediting, verification, and editing of critical parliamentary information. Key responsibilities include the publication of debates, committee evidence, special reports, and other official documents. You will provide expert advice and strategic recommendations to the Clerk Assistant and other Procedural Services executives, including Table Officers.

Education :

  • Successful completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma, or an acceptable combination of education, experience, and training.

Experience :

  • Extensive experience working in a high-profile operational client service setting;
  • Strong experience in financial and resource management, including mentoring, coaching, and developing team members to achieve their full potential;
  • Demonstrated ability to stay current with industry technology trends and implement innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery;
  • Experience in recruiting/hiring qualified staff;
  • Experience managing and prioritizing multiple competing initiatives in a fast-paced operational environment, requiring quick decision-making.

Asset :

  • Understanding of the organization, culture, tradition, structure and business needs of the House of Commons, its members, the directorate and other interconnecting services.
  • Experienced in managing both unionized and non-unionized employees, with a proven ability to lead union negotiations.
