Description
Job Title: Senior Financial Consultant – Controller
Contract Duration: 6 months
Location: Mississauga
Overview
Our client, a well-established CPG company, is seeking a Senior Financial Consultant – Controller. The ideal candidate should have proficiency in Sage software and an extensive background in the CPG sector, combined with strong technical skills and excellent interpersonal abilities.
Roles And Responsibilities
Review and restructure the General Ledger (GL) as necessary, to streamline the company's financial operations.
Conduct reconciliations on GL accounts such as Accruals, AP, AR, and the related sub-ledgers.
Identify, address, and rectify any potential discrepancies in the accounting records.
Assist with the year-end close.
Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and workflow documentation to ensure all processes adhere to IFRS policies and best practices.
Provide mentorship to a motivated team.
Work with external auditors to coordinate the year-end close and rectify any potential accounting issues.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Proficiency in using Sage accounting software would be a significant asset.
CPA, or equivalent.
Comprehensive understanding of IFRS, with a proven ability to identify problems and offer constructive solutions.
Demonstrated skill in developing and implementing SOPs and workflow documentation.
Strong problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for identifying opportunities to improve accounting records and workflows.
