Purpose

We are currently recruiting for a Human Resources Business Partner. Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters.  This is a full-time position based in Markham, ON.

Worley, Canada East (CAE) is seeking a full-time People (HR) Business Partner to provide human resources leadership to the business. The People Business Partner will play a key role in enabling leaders to manage their talent effectively and will act as a consultant and strategic business partner to assigned client groups. Working collaboratively with leaders, utilizing a client-focused approach, the People Business Partner will contribute to the continuous improvement of service delivery to the business. The People Business Partner will also support the implementation of other critical People initiatives to drive and support profitable business growth and operate in alignment with the company values, the initiatives of the business region and the Centers of Excellence. This position is based in the Markham office and has an in-office requirement of 4 days per week. Occasional office visits to our other CAE locations such as Oakville, Kingston, and Sarnia may be required. The position may also require travel to project sites occasionally.

Key Focus Areas

Acts as a senior business partner, subject matter expert, consultant, and coach on business decisions including:

  • Workforce planning and talent acquisition
  • Mobility (domestic and international)
  • Project mobilization and onboarding
  • HR Policy application and interpretation
  • Diversity, equality & inclusion
  • Remuneration and reward
  • Organizational design
  • Talent management and development, succession planning, retention, engagement
  • Employee relations including leading investigations, legal issues, etc.
  • Ready, Response and Recover (R3) support, the company’s security and resilience management system.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a true business partner to our Business Leaders and Stakeholders across the Canada East region.
  • Work with leaders to encourage and foster a high performing culture, providing relevant and timely coaching and advice, challenging and influencing behaviours and acting as a business ally.;
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders on the implementation of organization-wide programs and initiatives such as talent reviews, workforce planning, talent development programs, annual pay review process, succession planning and other projects in conjunction with our CoEs.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive relationship with business stakeholders and employees, and act as the first-point-of-call for any inquiries or escalations.
  • Maintain and enforce HR business policies that are updated and compliant with local, provincial and federal employment legislation.
  • Manage processes and interactions with Shared Service partner to ensure efficient processes and data integrity.
  • Manage workforce life cycle from onboarding through to exits, ensuring compliance with applicable business processes, and accurate input/maintenance of employee information etc.
  • Manage HR-related investigations and incidents, manage employee statutory ‘leave’ requests and related processes, and ensure discretion.
  • Manage global mobility business initiatives (i.e. work permits, inter-company transfers, etc.)
  • Lead and develop a small team of HR professionals in CAE.

What You Will Bring

  • University Degree or completion of a Human Resources Management degree/diploma with related progressive HR experience as a Generalist, Senior Advisor, or HRBP.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a background in EPC/EPCM project experience, with prior experience in change management, organizational design, and employee relations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with clients at all levels of the organization and influence decisions.
  • Ability to establish credibility quickly and be decisive utilizing well-developed critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (both written and oral) skills, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Collaborative team player with demonstrated professional and emotional maturity and judgment to handle sensitive situations with diplomacy and tact.
  • Self-starter and able to work both in a team environment and independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple and conflicting priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Previous experiences working in a multi-location environment is an asset.
  • Results oriented with solid time management/organization skills.
  • Growth mindset with ability to shift and pivot in a fast paced, dynamic work environment.
  • CHRP (Certified Human Resource Professional) designation would be an asset.
  • Previous experience working in a Shared Services model would be an asset.
  • Bilingual in French and English would be an asset.
