Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities, and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst, Sourcing & Analytics to join our Finance team based out of our offices in Stellarton, Nova Scotia.

Here’s Where You’ll Be Focusing

  • Work with Sourcing as required on budgets/forecasts and actuals for tracking sourcing initiatives
  • Collaborate with members of the other internal and external teams within finance and sourcing
  • Develop repeatable processes for auditing complex supplier spend
  • Work with Sourcing to analyze supplier contract compliance
  • Work closely with leaders across the CFO organization
  • Communicate and work in a collaborative manner to resolve senior management questions
  • Actively pursue continuous improvement opportunities in terms of processes for efficient task completion

What You Have To Offer

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Accounting/Finance
  • A relevant university degree (Business with a focus in Accounting, Finance, etc.)
  • Strong computer skills; Proficient use of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Proven time management, organization, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to anticipate issues and recommend appropriate actions
  • Able to work in a team environment and help train others
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills to communicate clearly with a variety of audiences and levels of management
  • Ability to work in a deadline driven environment, and under limited supervision with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage sensitive information and situations involving internal and external customers
  • Intuitive approach to Continuous Improvement
  • Experience with SAP

Preferred

  • Professional designation (CPA) or working towards one
