The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Portfolio Manager to join one of our teams in the Roche Informatics division. In Roche Informatics, we focus on delivering technology that evolves the practice of medicine and helps patients live longer, better lives.

  • Connecting to business strategy, driving a common understanding of the informatics portfolio , and ‘connect the dots’ with portfolios across Informatics and our Business partners
  • Use business domain expertise and strategic agility to help teams focus on business value and align to the strategic initiatives of business and IT leadership. Work with Informatics Domains and business partners to define the strategic themes and value framework to prioritize our work and portfolio based on organizational needs
  • Highlight and identify risks/impediments in the portfolio and lead the development of subsequent actions to minimize/mitigate project failure (delayed/over budget)
  • Ensure resources are effectively deployed and tracked for optimizing value-driven investments
  • Embrace a continuous improvement mindset and model or coach the use of Agile/lean best practices and innovation

Who you are:

  • 5-7 years professional IT experience in a global or multi-site IT organization with 3-5 years of experience managing and executing Project Management and/or Customer Services with at least 3+ years of Portfolio management experience with a minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Informatics
  • Experience within Pharmaceutical/ BioTech industry is a plus
  • Strategic thinker—aligns to top business priorities and has a strong passion and knowledge of our business and business partners
  • Courageous and focused—Influencing, driver, listener who is not afraid to ask for help or escalate
  • Strong Communication: written and verbal with executive presence; focus on consistent communication of intent and help people understand the why
  • Has a passion for ensuring good business planning and investments demonstrating, business acumen, financial and resource savviness and has appropriate certifications, if required.
  • Prepared to lead change in our organization, supporting senior leaders to partner with our business stakeholders in managing our IT portfolio
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail with ability to conduct effective research, complete data analysis, efficient problem solving, creative thinking and ability to communicate performance trends
