This is a fantastic opportunity to become a Member of our CGI-Edmonton team providing leading information technology services to our clients. We seek a Data Architect with demonstrated ability in large enterprise environments.

Your future duties and responsibilities

  • Work with business users, IT, and other architects to complete data architecture, data engineering and data management deliverables
  • Architect, design, and implement complex data solutions to support transactional and analytical business solutions
  • Work with different stakeholders to facilitate consensus and gathering and documenting of data requirements
  • Complete technical data quality tasks - data quality assessments, data cleansing, data enhancements, and data consolidation
  • Provide thought leadership in public and private cloud data platform architecture
  • Complete current-state and future-state data flow and data integration diagrams and data mapping pertaining to data migrations and integrations
  • Develop master data management design and implementation strategies and architectures
  • Conduct data governance workshops and complete data governance deliverables

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

  • 5+ years of experience in data architecture
  • Data architecture, modeling, migration, master data management and governance expertise
  • Cloud data platform architecture and implementation experience
  • Experienced in leveraging DecSecOps approaches for data solutions
  • Experience in implementing data management/data cataloging solutions, data quality tools, and REST APIs
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build good working relationships with clients and team members
  • Strong written and oral communication skills – comfortable with delivering presentations
  • Time management, task planning and prioritization skills - able to multitask effectively
  • Developing of business cases, strategies, and roadmaps
  • Implementing standard IT security practices such as encryption, certificates, and key management

Nice to have:

  • Experience with ML (Machine Learning) Ops
  • Experience in Azure Data Factory, Databricks, SQL, Spark
  • BI/Analytics technical development
  • Experience in software development in one or more languages such as Python, Java, C++ or similar, software design
  • Experience working with infrastructure automation & continuous integration/deployment and orchestration technologies (such as Docker, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Puppet, Chef, Azure DevOps, Ansible, etc.)
  • Understanding and experience with containers and serverless-compute technologies
