Communications Consultant (Contract)

Procom is seeking a Communications Consultant for a contract with one of our federal government departments.

As a Communications Consultant, you will collaborate with the Change Management Communications Officer and Change Management Officer to deliver the Change Management Consolidated Plan and corresponding Communications Plan within the project’s expected timelines. Your expertise will be vital in developing and implementing effective communication strategies to facilitate successful change management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in creating a variety of communication materials in partnership with the Change Management Communications Officer.
  • Manage the categorization, classification, and maintenance of all communications materials on an internal document site.
  • Update the Communications workplan daily.
  • Schedule meetings and follow up on action items.
  • Identify and manage risks related to change management communications.
  • Collaborate with the transition team to develop and deliver materials that ensure all stakeholders have the knowledge and ability to successfully adopt changes.

Deliverables:

  • Produce tactical-level communications materials in support of the Change Management Communications plan, including:
    • Key messages
    • PowerPoint slide decks
    • FAQs
    • Information briefings/presentations with basic graphic elements
  • Categorize, classify, and maintain all communications materials on the internal document site.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of change management communications.
Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6+ years of hands-on experience in liaising with stakeholders and a diverse range of staff across functions.
  • Proven experience in developing and creating various communications materials related to internal communications, corporate communication, and/or stakeholder engagement, including:
    • Fact sheets
    • Newsletters
    • Presentations incorporating text and graphic elements.
  • Experience with at least 3 projects demonstrating strong writing skills in one or more of the following areas:
    • Science
    • Technology
    • Innovation
    • Canadian Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)
    • Clean Technology
