24072 - Marketing Specialist (Term - Approx. 14 Months)
Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation (NSLC)
Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing and executing marketing initiatives that are designed to engage, educate, and inspire shoppers; enhance NSLC's reputation in the marketplace; and contribute to delivering on the NSLC's strategic goals and annual objectives. The Marketing Specialist provides subject matter expertise related to marketing and works collaboratively as a key member of the NSLC's Insights & Customer Engagement Team to bring plans to life with internal and external partners.
QualificationsAs a qualified candidate you will have:
- An undergraduate degree or diploma with a emphasis in Business, Marketing, Communications or related fields
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a Sales, Marketing, or Communications role
As an ideal candidate you will have:
- Experience working in a fast-moving consumer packaged goods industry with retail or service experience preferred
- Experience working with or in an advertising agency, in a project management capacity is considered an asset
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Responsibilities
- Implement and support execution of marketing plans, from creative brief to program execution, budget reconciliation, and measurement, within an established set of objectives
- Analyze marketing program results and develop insights that drive informed decisions and recommendations for the NSLC and our partners
- Monitor, track, and report on program performance, staying up to date with industry and marketing trends and best practices to recommend solutions back to the business
- Work cross-functionally with key members of the Marketing, Promotions, Category, Communications, Creative Services, and Store Operations Teams to ensure an integrated approach to all Shopper Marketing efforts, both in-store and online
- Liaise with advertising agencies, suppliers, and other internal and external stakeholders in support of NSLC Shopper Marketing initiatives as a subject matter expert
- Facilitate Shopper Marketing communication to in-store teams, utilizing a collaborative approach to share our programs with key stakeholders and ensure we execute with excellence
- Working with the Marketing Manager, provide support across NSLC Shopper Marketing initiatives and make recommendations in support of departmental and company business goals
- Work cross -functionally and with internal partners and suppliers to ideate, create, and manage the approvals of in-store displays and signage
- Responsible for production and distribution of promotional period materials and signage in collaboration with the Promotions Team and NSLC print partner
- Support day-to-day marketing, wayfinding, and other in-store experience elements
- Support the Marketing Manager in the execution of loyalty (AIR MILES) marketing programs and activities in-store
- Lead and support key shopper marketing projects as required.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Visit (NSLC and non-NSLC) retail locations a minimum of 9 times a year, with Marketing Manager, to observe and assess the shopping environment, identifying opportunities for improvement
- Assist in the development and achievement of annual business unit plans, objectives, and budget; achieve individual objectives as assigned
- Proactively identify opportunities, initiating and implementing new ideas to improve our current systems and procedures within marketing
- Demonstrate commitment to the NSLC's service standards and our values
- Demonstrate commitment to workplace health and safety
- Some travel and weekend work may be required with this role
- Perform other related duties as assigned
