What is the opportunity?

This role provides leadership for the day-to-day operations of the RBC InvestEase business, as well as for the development and implementation of the product roadmap. The focus of this role is to ensure a smooth delivery of IE’s differentiated services, products and capabilities that bring value to existing and attract new ones. The Director is expected to work cross-functionally within RBC to engage the right partners/stakeholders to effectively build and execute the strategy.

What will you do?

Product Development and Planning:

  • Build a product roadmap with a view to short-term, medium-term and long-term capabilities, deliverables, and requirements
  • Contribute to the product development prioritization process, work with product owners to manage product roadmap
  • Research business opportunities and develop business cases for future feature development and/or initiative prioritization

Implementation Leadership:

  • Lead initiative implementation under the InvestEase strategy
  • Define problem statements, definitions of success, guiding principles and initiative priorities to ensure roadmap and outcome clarity
  • Identify key decisions, actions & capabilities needed for successful execution
  • Accountable for setting, measuring, and tracking goals/KPIs to ensure strategic priorities and business outcomes are met
  • Perform analysis to monitor, measure and recommend refinements to ongoing application development

Operations Management:

  • Ensure smooth execution of the daily, monthly, quarterly and annual processes relative to portfolio management, account management, transactions, and including support to the portfolio advisor and contact center activities.
  • Ensuring tracking and resolution of IT issues as they arise.
  • Oversee the relationship with technical and operational partners involved in supporting InvestEase on a daily basis.
  • Manage complex systems and process analysis, design, and simulation. Provide expertise to business and IT development teams on approaches to automate and streamline key processes.

Relationship Management:

  • Coordinate the work with Digital partners to maintain exiting platforms and build out new features
  • Collaborating with key partners (i.e. Direct Investing, Group Advantage, Mobile, MyAdvisor, Wealth Management) in order to define and advance different partnership strategies
  • Understand partnership ecosystems in Financial Services and other industries to inform potential strategic opportunities
  • Represent InvestEase in internal PSI and Wealth Management discussions and propose solutions/features to support partnerships relative to IE

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • 12-15 years' relevant experience
  • University degree in business, economics or equivalent
  • Strong organizational awareness.
  • Strong impact and influence skills to get things done through cross functional teams.
  • Solid communication across multiple audiences (including executives); able to present detailed/complex analysis in clear, concise and meaningful manner
  • High degree of organization and ability to prioritize
  • High achievement orientation.
  • Working knowledge of financial markets
  • Customer service mindset
  • Solid technical and PC skills

Nice to have:

Professions investment designation (CIM, CFA, etc.)

Project Management designation (CSPO, PMP, etc.)

MBA degree or equivalent an asset

Extensive knowledge of retail banking and robo-advisory would be an asset
