Overview

We are seeking an IT Manager with a broad range of skills to lead our IT department for Pursuit’s growing Flyover Attractions, currently located in Chicago, Las Vegas, Reykjavik, and Vancouver. The IT Manager will oversee all aspects of Flyover Attractions’ information technology systems and infrastructure, from employee hardware to the software that supports the operations such as retail, point of sale, and ticketing. This role requires leadership, planning, and technical expertise to align IT initiatives with business objectives.

What is the compensation for this role?

The salary range for this role is $120,000/yr - $135,000/year with a yearly short-term incentive of 10% of base salary, with a max achievement of 120%. What will you do in this job?

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of IT professionals and other contractors, ensuring a high level of motivation, productivity, and professional growth.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skillset and knowledge of team members.
  • Identify opportunities for automation or other more efficient processes
  • Drive consistency and ensure documentation is current to allow each site to support each other
  • Create and manage budgets and forecasts
  • Liaise with department heads and business stakeholders to understand IT requirements and align technology solutions with Flyover goals.
  • Facilitate effective communication between IT and other departments, ensuring seamless integration of technology into departmental processes.

Technical Work And Management

  • Responsible for the implementation, management, and maintenance of the Pursuit Flyover technology environment, including hardware, software, and network components.
  • Oversee the level-2 and 3 technical support of all computing, peripheral, network, and system issues related to the Flyover locations
  • Support includes specification, installation, and testing of computer systems and peripherals while establishing standards and guidelines
  • Responsible for the implementation and support of peripheral technologies including point of sale, ticketing systems, payment systems.
  • Manage incident response and disaster recovery plans within the department, ensuring business continuity in case of emergencies.
  • Implement and maintain software applications critical to the operations.
  • Activities require interaction with application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve unique, non-recurring problems.  
  • Work is performed with little supervision and requires initiative and judgement. 
  • Works with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software.

What skills and experience do you need for this job?

Qualifications

  • A degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience is required.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in IT Infrastructure, information security, and systems administration.
  • 1-2 years’ experience installing and supporting MS Windows desktop computers and peripherals.
  • A solid foundation in operating systems, hardware components, system integrations and troubleshooting techniques is essential.
  • A robust knowledge of networking fundamentals is helpful, including understanding protocols, diagnosing network issues, and managing network devices.
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in IT management, with a demonstrated record of successful leadership and team management.
  • Preferred: Experience working in a hospitality related environment with technologies including Point-of-Sale systems, payment cards, receipt printers, scanners, etc. is highly preferred.
  • Preferred: Proven project management experience is preferred.

Skills

  • Ability to author non-trivial documents with both text and graphical elements and using these documents to keep diverse types of operational teams and staff informed.  
  • Self-starter and thought leader for the infrastructure department and is expected to bring ideas to the table for consideration.  
  • Professional, and able to communicate complex concepts patiently and effectively to audiences with varying skill levels, in person, on the phone, and via email.  
  • Willingness to work with a geographically dispersed team in a seasonal environment.  
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Sense of urgency to complete job duties accurately and in a timely manner.  
  • Strong knowledge of IT principles, practices, and emerging technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, CISSP, PMP) or experience in the attractions industry are a plus.
  • Must have the ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs with assistance Up to 25% travel is possible for this role
