In 1977, OSI introduced the first generation electronic chart system for the maritime market and revolutionized navigation. Over the years we have had many firsts. Today, OSI Maritime Systems is a leading provider of integrated navigation and tactical solutions designed for naval and maritime security operations. Among those solutions, the company develops and delivers integrated bridge systems for warships, integrated dived navigation systems for submarines, and C2 systems for small craft. Presently, 23 navies totaling more than 600 warships and submarines operate using OSI systems. Due to the nature of our company, all employees must pass specific security criteria. Only candidates who are Canadian citizens, have PR status or have a citizenship from a NATO country, and who satisfy security clearance criteria, will be considered.

The Role:

This position supports the overall configuration and coordination of the software development environment including but not limited to lab environment and equipment, lab networking infrastructure, end user devices, OTS software versions and licenses and scheduling of resources.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Set up and configure new laptops and workstations for the software team using Microsoft Autopilot and Intune
  • Ensure applications used by software team are current, supported, secure and licensed.
  • Maintain application configuration standards
  • Provide general workstation maintenance and support for users
  • Responsible for the organization and setup of lab equipment including switches / peripherals / sensors
  • Responsible for certificates for Radar equipment / peripherals / sensors
  • Organize the scheduled cleaning of the lab area and equipment.
  • Establish lab area etiquette.
  • Provide lab area safety training for high power locations
  • Provide basic management of software team network infrastructure (cabling, patching, moves etc.)
  • Provide support as needed for software and hardware and other systems
  • Create and maintain an Asset Management database
  • Ensure proper disposal of electronic assets in a timely manner
  • Manage and maintain customer owned assets

You Bring:

  • 2-year College Diploma or Business School diploma or equivalent.
  • 4-6 years working experience in an IT Systems and Network support role.
  • Strong problem solving/analytical/critical thinking skills.
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational, administrative and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently, with team and with clients in a professional manner.
  • Ability to follow through with tasks, projects and troubleshooting, Excellent oral and written, and

communication skills,

  • Strong understanding of Windows 10 operating systems
  • Understanding of LAN/WAN based networking is considered an asset.
  • Understanding of industry standard business software applications such as MS Office, Outlook configuration, anti-virus and malware
  • Understanding of network printing and functions of all-in-one printers an asset.
  • Understanding of industry best practices regarding information security an asset; knowledge of hardware and software configuration and support an asset
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 environment
