*This role is for full-time seasonal position, available from OCT 2024 until JAN 2025

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the General Manager, Notch8, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Consistently offer professional, thoughtful, and sincere service to each guest
  • Assist guests with food and beverage menu items in an informative and engaging manner
  • Adhere to outlet policies, procedures, and service standards
  • Have comprehensive knowledge of beverage lists and promotions
  • Understand all menu items, garnishes, contents, and preparation methods
  • Possess a working knowledge of wine varietals and regions, including detailed descriptions of all red and white wines by the glass
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies in handling food and beverages
  • Be aware of dietary restrictions and allergy concerns, communicating appropriately
  • Ensure the prompt delivery and high quality of products
  • Maintain proper setup of all mise en place and side stations in the outlet
  • Perform function room setups and tear downs, including moving and arranging tables, chairs, cutlery, and linens
  • Provide service in a private dining room setting for both day and night functions
  • Collaborate effectively as a team player and representative of the Food and Beverage Department
  • Maintain excellent communication with kitchen and serving staff to ensure timely service
  • Assist with delivering food from the kitchen to tables, and help with bussing and resetting tables in a fast-paced environment
  • Have the ability to create specialty coffees and operate an espresso/specialty coffee machine
  • Undertake other duties as assigned


Your experience and skills include:

  • 1-2 years serving experience in an upscale dining establishment required
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings and weekends
  • Serving it Right certification required
  • Previous point of sale system experience an asset
  • Proven organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-pace environment
  • Demonstrated ability to be warm & sincere
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Impeccable grooming
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Proven ability to problem solve
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
  • Ability to resolve guest inquiries and concerns in a timely manner
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): 

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs
  • Frequent kneeling, pushing and pulling
  • Frequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
  • Proven ability to carry three entrée plates or more at one time

Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
