Business Analyst

Agilus is recruiting for a Business Analyst in the Retail Industry in Mississauga, Ontario.

The Business Analyst III is responsible for documenting and establishing business processes, gathering requirements and translating them into machine learning model needs. This role ensures a high quality deliverable by supporting and facilitating technical teams through identifying opportunities for process improvements from idea to implementation.

A Typical Day

• Document and analyze business processes to understand workflows and to identify areas of improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
• Provide thorough, accurate, and timely requirements to downstream technical stakeholders empowering successful project delivery
• Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of data sources, classifications, to inform analytical insights and maintain expertise in data source management and exploration for analysis purposes
• Perform rigorous data evaluation to determine effective strategies to accomplish business and stakeholders’ objectives
• Engage with external stakeholders to find valuable insights in the data, analyze reports to develop recommendations to drive business success
• Support internal team members to follow outlined requirements and facilitate through understanding tasks and timelines to enable project planning
  
  

Successful Candidates Will Have

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
• Ability to map out complex operational processes
• Expertise in data analysis to extract valuable trends and opportunities that enable business growth through strategic recommendations
• Previous experience with JIRA, Confluence, and SQL. Experience with BigQuery would be considered an asset
• Previous experience of preparing data for machine learning models, primarily textual

• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and exceptionally detail oriented
• Proven ability to multitask and manage multiple deadlines
• Experience working in a fast-paced or agile environment
• Retail or tax/finance background is an asset but not mandatory
