Our client is searching for a Senior Manager, Finance Initiatives to join their team in Calgary. This role will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and oversee initiatives that enhance financial processes, reporting, and decision-making. Position includes people management responsibilities, travel for relationship building and initiative rollouts, and potential attendance at various firm meetings.

Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To

  • Manage the implementation of several new finance reporting modules
  • Develop an implementation plan, testing plan and providing regular updates to the firm’s Innovation Committee
  • Lead the implementation work by overseeing training programs and designing ongoing internal control processes and workflow processes.
  • Seek regular feedback from a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Provide regular reporting and prepare further analysis produced from the suite of reporting tools.
  • Work with the Business Intelligence Analyst, oversee the implementation of other additional financial dashboards and KPI reporting
  • Oversee the implementation of common internal control processes and procedures to streamline administrative and treasury functions of the firm, across our various offices.
  • Oversee the implementation of other finance improvements and solutions as requested by the CFO.
  • Provide support to the Director, Finance on various monthly and annual duties including Board reporting, budgeting and forecasting, compiling the monthly reporting package, and monthly distributions to partners.
  • Support the CFO with other senior finance tasks and special projects including strategic planning, and financial analysis for Board and executive reporting.

Your strengths include:

  • CPA designation with 5-10 years post-designation experience.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of financial systems, data analysis, and process optimization.
  • Experience analyzing and summarizing financial information for non-finance stakeholders.
  • Experience designing internal controls and regular month-end accounting processes.
  • Prior work experience with management cost accounting tools and estimating tools, ERP/ software implementations, developing training content and delivering training.
  • Prior work experience in Treasury functions is an asset.
  • Experience working in a law firm/professional services firm is an asset.
  • Proficient in software systems Aderant, Iridium/ Big Hand, and Power BI is an asset.
