Overview:

Pembina Pipeline is seeking a Senior Production Accountant to join the Operations Services business unit. Reporting to the Supervisor, Production Accounting, the successful candidate will work within a cross functional team and is responsible for supporting the production accounting function with a focus on measurement and gas plant allocations for the Pembina Gas Infrastructure and Pembina Gas Services gas plants.

The Operations Services team is committed to delivering Operational Excellence across the organization. This is defined by promoting Pembina’s Safety Culture – Zero by Choice, maximizing pipeline throughput and facility utilization, and demonstrating a dedication to product quality.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Technical measurement and gas plant allocation support for the Production Accounting team:
    • Support PA team in troubleshooting allocations, component and volumetric imbalances;
    • Assist PA team with gathering and analyzing receipt point data;
    • Review plant balances as required;
    • Review gas and liquid analysis as required; and
    • Work with Product Quality & Measurement team on resolution of production measurement issues.
  • Assist in interpreting schematics for master data setup in PA system;
  • Assist in review of contracts, metering and allocations to verify PA setup is as per agreements;
  • Assist with commercial and business development teams on new business requirements;
  • Technical support for Production Accounting/Measurement related JV audit queries including development of audit responses;
  • Participate in various business and system projects;
  • Assist in EPAP reporting;
  • Assist with prior period amendments as required;
  • Ensure full compliance with internal controls and corporate policies;
  • Ad hoc duties as required; and
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum demonstrated depth of expertise of complex gas plant allocations experience including measurement reviews preferably in midstream operations;
  • CAPPA certification and/or technical measurement related credentials;
  • Extensive technical knowledge of gas plant allocations, measurement, interpretation of schematics as well as Regulatory reporting requirements;
  • Experience with field data capture systems and production accounting systems;
  • Experience with FlowCal, GFR/PVR and TIPS would be considered an asset;
  • Strong understanding of gas handling agreements;
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and to adapt to fast-changing environment while thriving under pressure and delivering high-quality results;
  • Exceptional organizational, communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to apply sound business judgment, strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Self-starter who directs own efforts based on high-level business objectives;
  • A team player with a strong work ethic, able to work independently and provide quality of service with a willingness to share knowledge and make effort to improve the effectiveness of the team; and
  • Excellent Excel skills, proficient in Microsoft suite of products.

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
