Project Controller

Position Summary

Reporting to the Project Director, the Project Controller is responsible for the entire accounting cycle of a project and for ensuring that the project’s financial goals are met. He/she provides all financial information required for the project, including account management and financial reporting to lenders.

REPORTING

The Project Controller reports to the Project Director. He/she may be responsible for several projects simultaneously. One or two accounting technicians report directly to the Project Controller.

Responsibilities

• Implement all required financial controls to monitor the cost against the budget.
• Ensure the systematic and efficient management of financial information for a rigorous control of budgets and costs.
• Establish project budgets and estimates and keep data up to date.
• Manage the project's financial services.
• Coordinate and review month-end financial reports to ensure information integrity and accuracy.
• Supervise and participate in the production of financial statements.
• Coordinate the relationship between management and financial institutions.
• In collaboration with the project team, prepare budgets and forecasts and perform risk analysis.
• Prepare audit files.
• Produce various monthly reports.
  
  

Qualifications

• CPA designation
  
  

Experience

• 7-10 years of relevant experience
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access and Word
• Working knowledge of JD Edwards and SAP is an asset
  
  

LANGUAGE

• Bilingual, French and English, spoken and written.
  
  

Available to work on-call according to a pre-determined schedule to respond to emergency calls outside regular hours and to travel occasionally to other sites based on project needs or requests for support.
