As the Director, Total Rewards, you will lead the development and execution of comprehensive compensation, benefits, and rewards strategies that align with our ambitious business goals. You will play a critical role in designing programs that attract, motivate, and retain top talent across our diverse, global operations. Collaborating closely with senior leadership, HR, and other cross-functional teams, you will ensure that our total rewards strategy remains competitive, equitable, and aligned with both market trends and organizational values.

This role can be based in either Calgary, AB, or Houston, TX, offering you the flexibility to work from one of our key locations. Principal Responsibilities and Duties

  • Total Rewards Strategy: Develop and lead an innovative total rewards philosophy and strategy that aligns with Enerflex's overall business objectives and enhances the employee experience. This includes identifying and evaluating external market changes and internal trends to inform strategic designs.
  • Collaboration & Innovation: Collaborate effectively with regional HR and business leaders, fostering strong partnerships and actively listening to diverse perspectives. Leverage creativity and innovation to develop and implement forward-thinking total rewards strategies that align with global business needs and drive organizational success.
  • Compensation Management: Oversee the design and management of innovative compensation solutions, including base salary structures, incentive plans, and executive compensation programs. Partner with the SVP & Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) on preparation for the Board of Directors Human Resources and Compensation Committee (HRCC).
  • Board Collaboration: Prepare materials and presentations for the HRCC, in collaboration with the CAO, and actively participate in committee meetings to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Market Analysis & Benchmarking: Conduct thorough research and analysis of global market trends, industry dynamics, and competitor activities. Direct the planning, design, implementation, and administration of all enterprise wide rewards programs to ensure competitive positioning in the marketplace and collaborate with regional HR leadership on regional reward programs.
  • External Partnerships: Select and manage relationships with external compensation advisors to ensure access to the right compensation data sets and conduct independent analysis to determine the company's market competitiveness.
  • Strategic Communication & Reporting: Prepare and deliver clear, data-driven presentations and reports that communicate strategic recommendations to senior leadership. Generate detailed documentation to support decision-making processes.
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure that all enterprise total rewards programs are compliant with applicable laws, regulations, and internal company policies. Maintain governance frameworks to monitor and address regulatory changes.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years’ experience in Total Rewards, with extensive expertise in executive and employee compensation programs, as well as benefits management. A track record of leading successful programs in a global, matrixed environment would be well regarded.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging with senior leadership and Board-level committees.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong knowledge of global compensation and benefits trends, regulations, and best practices.
  • Experience with SAP Success Factors is advantageous.
