What you’ll do -

* Oversee Leadership Skills training across the organization: Develop and implement innovative and impactful leadership training programs that resonate from front line to senior leaders at BC Hydro. Reaching approximately 1500 leaders at various levels across the organization.

* Assess needs: Conduct ongoing training needs assessments to create and source tailored training for teams across BC Hydro and ensure ongoing needs are being met.

* Client service: Ensure our training offerings are aligned with organizational goals and meet the evolving needs of the organization, providing sufficient offerings to meet demand.

* Quality assurance: Oversee the evaluation of existing programs and apply continuous improvement principles to ensure top quality programs are delivered for employees.

* Lead your team: Coach, support, and develop a talented team of 5 direct reports, fostering inclusiveness, building strong relationships and encouraging collaboration.

* Maintain internal and external partnerships: Build and maintain a network of internal and external partners to leverage best practices and insights.

* Collaborate across departments: Facilitate connections across departments to ensure cohesive training efforts throughout the organization that align with centralized contractual agreements with qualified training suppliers.

* Oversee governance: Ensure consistent application of development training guidelines and training funding requests.

* Vendor relationship management: Develop, negotiate and execute vendor contracts, ensuring all contracts are managed effectively, KPIs are met and relationships are strong and collaborative.

* Oversee your budget: Craft and manage an annual budget plan that aligns with training demands, keeping a close eye on monthly forecasting and maintenance.

* Look for opportunities to innovate: Seek out ongoing opportunities to evolve and improve existing offerings to support changing business needs.

Success in the first year of this role will include:

1. Transitioning new Leadership Programs into sustainment mode

2. Leading procurement efforts for new professional development training

3. Exploring opportunities for future skills training to proactively meet shifting organizational priorities


What you bring –

* A degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Adult Education, Behavioral Sciences, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

* At least 10 years in progressively responsible roles supporting and leading leadership training programs within a large organization, including people leadership experience

* Proven experience in planning and executing integrated training programs.

* Strong capabilities in project management, budget oversight, and vendor relations.

* A track record of building effective relationships with leaders at all levels.

* Experience leading both formal and informal teams, with skills in conflict resolution and change management being a plus.

* Excellent communication skills, including listening, presenting, negotiating, and writing.

* Strong facilitation skills. Insights certification would be an asset.

* Ability to travel across BC to deliver training, with a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
