RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated, organized and detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills who will work under the direction of Dr. Jonathan Spicer.

Education / Experience
Education: Diploma of College Studies (DEC)
Field of Study: Science or Medicine
Other education considered an asset for this position: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
Foreign medical graduates with authorization to work in Canada are welcome to apply.
Work Experience: Previous experience working in a clinical / healthcare environment, including interaction with patients and clinical personnel (nurses, technicians and physicians).
Required Skills
Status: Temporary, full time
Pay Scale: $43,316.00 - $80,425.80 Commensurate with education and experience
Work Shift: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm., Mondays to Fridays / Schedule subject to change – flexibility required
Work Site: Lakeshore Hospital
For the first weeks, training will be done remotely and on site at the Glen site, Montreal).

Role
The tasks include:
- Consenting,
- Biobanking,
- Data Entry.
- Assist with maintenance of Institution-specific, regulatory, ethical and training documentation, in coordination with Biobank staff,
- Perform and/or coordinate Participant recruitment, informed consent and registration - explain study and answer questions,
- Administer and record answers for Participant questionnaires,
- For consenting Participants, conduct follow-up, data collection and data entry into the Biobank, in coordination with Biobank staff,
- Perform database maintenance and quality control,
- Update datasets as needed,
- Retrieve clinical information from medical charts and electronic records and enter data into biobank data management system,
- Perform and/or coordinate biospecimen shipment,
- Assist with biospecimen collection, processing and storage as required, in coordination with Biobank staff,
- Prepare reports on completed tasks,
- Complete all other relevant tasks as assigned by supervisor and/or director,
- Clinical trial coordination could become part of the job description as the program matures.

Required Skills
- Excellent French and English, spoken and written,
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
- Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision,
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook),
- Working knowledge of and experience with basic laboratory techniques.
