We are searching for an Accounts Payable Clerk or Junior Accountant to contribute to a leader manufacturing company in the food industry based out of Oakville, ON. This is also an administrative-heavy position.

What will you be doing?

  • Process a high-volume of invoices for accounts payables including verifying accuracy, obtaining approvals, and ensuring timely payments
  • Matching, batching and coding invoices
  • Greet and assist visitors in a professional and courteous manner
  • Answer and direct phone calls to appropriate personnel
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail including sorting, distributing, and processing deliveries
  • Assist with document processing tasks, such as data entry, entering invoices for accounts receivable, filing, and organizing paperwork alongside other administrative tasks
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve inquiries
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions
  • Perform check runs when required
  • Ad-hoc responsibilities as required

Must Haves

  • Post secondary education in finance, accounting, or commerce
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar accounting role
  • Experience working with QuickBooks Desktop is a must
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Experience performing general administrative tasks such as reception duties, scanning, and processing documents
  • MS Office experience is essential
  • Proficient in client and vendor communication
  • Highly motivated and focused on achieving results
  • Attentive to detail
