Summary Of Duties

Outpatient and Marketed Services at St. John’s Rehab is seeking a dynamic individual to manage core quality and inter-professional practice improvement projects. The Outpatient, and Marketed Services area is currently focused on continuing to evolve improvement in the delivery of care to rehabilitation populations including (Burns, trauma, limb loss, stroke and other neurological injury, Musculoskeletal impairments and Joint replacement surgeries.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively to develop, implement and maintain Clinical and administrative processes and improvement
  • Manage key projects and/or working groups related to high priority/strategic including 3rd party funded populations such as WSIB specialty care for Burns, Amps, and Musculoskeletal injury (Back and Neck, Lower Extremity and Upper Extremity), Trauma related to Motor Vehicle Collisions)) and
  • Ensuring adherence to WSIB Specialty Burn & Amp Program contractual obligations
  • Supporting PCM in monitoring marketed services performance and developing strategies to meet revenue targets
  • Developing project plans, conducting and evaluating internal/external projects (e.g. Winter reduction scale-down, orientation of new burn physicians, motor vehicle collision marketing strategy, WSIB presentations, WSIB request-for-proposal process etc.)
  • Conducting Outpatient quality improvement initiatives (e.g. Virtual Care, Early Supported Discharge for Stroke.)
  • Engaging and participating in meetings with program partners and stakeholders (e.g. RCA & TSN committees, Sunnybrook research, Professional Practice Leaders, Health Records etc.)
  • Provides hands-on support and coordination to the other quality & safety initiatives as required
  • Provide staff education through coaching and inter-professional educational forums
  • Coordinate all elements of core projects, including the development and execution of project plans, evaluations and timelines.
  • Apply Quality Improvement methods and Change Management principles lead teams through the change process
  • Execute all key project management tasks including: identifying and resolving issues/conflicts, managing project dependencies, tracking milestones and deliverable, developing status reports and effectively manage changes in scope to mitigate risks.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis, including clinical and operational leaders, frontline staff, middle and senior leaders, and steering committee members.
  • Develop effective communications plans and related documentation for units, project teams and Steering Committees.
  • Chair project-related committees and working groups, as required
  • Make presentations at local, provincial, national and international meetings

Qualifications/Skills

  • Health-related degree required (Master’s degree an asset, clinical background Required)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience leading healthcare or hospital-based projects or quality improvement initiatives required.
  • Rehabilitative experience preferred (Stroke, Burn, Amp and Trauma experience is an asset)
  • Quality Improvement, Patient Safety and/or Project Management certification an asset
  • Demonstrated success in establishing, leading and maintaining positive change through quality improvement initiatives
  • Self-directed, with well-developed collaboration and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to set achievable goals and implement strategies for their achievement
  • Ability to understand the strategic environment as well as operational limitations and opportunities
  • Superior organizational skills, including attention to detail, prioritization and multi-tasking
  • Demonstrated team leadership, interpersonal & conflict resolution skills
  • Strong written and oral communication, teaching and presentation skills
  • Technically competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project)
  • Experience preparing manuscripts for peer-review an asset
