About The Job

Sustainable operations are fast becoming the global norm. Reducing carbon footprint, consistently tracking and managing towards greater energy efficiency, and responsibly reporting ESG data to investors and stakeholders are just a few key components that make Brightly clients award-winners. The Senior Account Manager for Energy and Sustainability with manage a portfolio of existing clients located throughout North America with primarily majority of headquarters within the Toronto, ON vicinity. You will support client account needs including adds, moves, and changes and will expand and generate new growth opportunities within.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and apply a detailed understanding of Brightly energy and ESG products, sales methodology, and processes
  • Strive to build, maintain, and create strong customer relationships.
  • Achieve quota through cross and up sales with each client account. Manage a portfolio of accounts to achieve long term success
  • Have excellent communication and negotiations skills and be customer service oriented.
  • Utilize insight and perception to navigate the software sales process successfully.
  • Develop positive relationships while handling customer needs. Connecting clients with internal resources and information.
  • Prospect, upsell, and cross sell business by using existing and potential customer networks.
  • Set and track sales account targets, aligned with company objectives.
  • Work with sales team, managers, marketing, and team members from other departments dedicated to the same client account to ensure the highest quality of materials are being produced and all sales, company, and client needs are met.
  • Close sales by building rapport with potential account; explaining product and service capabilities; asking pertinent discovery and qualification questions, overcoming objections from prospects.
  • Project Manage the procurement process for our prospects to allow for urgency and predictability.
  • Proactively engage with clients to help anticipate their needs as they grow with our solutions.
  • Update job knowledge by participating through professional development opportunities.

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a technical field
  • 4+ years of professional experience in an engineering, energy management, utility data management, sustainability and/or ESG reporting position
  • Desire to continually grow and improve
  • Strong Critical Thinking & Problem Solving
  • Software - Ability to use CRM (Salesforce.com), Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Company Information Database/Wiki, team chat, & online video conferencing tools.

What Makes You a Standout

  • Experience in Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and/or Public Sector markets.
  • Comfort with problem solving, change management, and iterative processes.
  • Previous experience with sales or customer service with SaaS solutions
