Who is The Forum?

The Forum is a Canadian charity that energizes, educates, mentors and connects women entrepreneurs to be wildly successful, promoting strengthened economies and thriving communities. We are proud to have supported over 6,100 women entrepreneurs since the pandemic began and have 22 years of experience supporting over 15,000 entrepreneurs across the country. We are driven to make meaningful impact and have fun while doing so.

We strive to work with intention, responding to the needs of women entrepreneurs and ensuring that they get the resources they need. We want everyone who accesses The Forum to walk away feeling like they have someone in their corner, championing them. We believe our communities are stronger and better cared for when they are diverse, inclusive, and just. We are dedicated to ensuring our initiatives reflect these beliefs by being committed to a journey towards anti-oppression and equity. We hope these principles encourage candidates who identify as Black, Indigenous, Women of Colour, and LGBTQIA2S+ to apply for this position.

About the role:

As the Online Auction Coordinator, you will support the planning and execution of the online auction for The Forum’s largest fundraising event with over 800 attendees! This role is key to reaching our fundraising target and offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event management, marketing, and stakeholder communication.

Together, we will make an impact on the thousands of women entrepreneurs across Canada each year.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Prospecting new donors and reengaging past donors to ensure the minimum retail value of donated items is achieved.
  • Coordinating the receiving and recording of all items.
  • Populating auction software with all auction items.
  • Reaching the targeted raise amount.
  • Reporting on donation acquisition.
  • Leading the online auction on-site on April 25, 2025.
  • Following up with all donors post-event.
  • Following up with successful bidders to ensure they receive their items.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed.
  • Your time will be split between acquisition (50%), execution (30%) and administration (20%).

What you bring to the table:

  • You have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • You are able to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • You communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally.
  • You take ownership of tasks, providing updates on progress and addressing roadblocks.
  • You enjoy variety in your day, bring a 'how can I help' attitude, and thrive in a collaborative, high-performing team.
  • You are passionate about supporting women entrepreneurs.

What you’ll experience as our team member:

  • Salary range is $5,500 - $6,500, commensurate with your experience.
  • Performance based bonus structure in line with the pre-agreed upon targets.
  • 250 hours over a 20 week contract (any overages will need to be pre-approved) from November 2024 to April 2025.
  • Reimbursement for any pre-approved out-of-pocket expenses, necessarily and properly incurred by you in the normal course of your contract.
  • A culture of flexibility and trust that honours work-life integration.

We are a fully remote team with occasional in-person team meetings or co-working days, depending on your location (Canada only). We commit to creating a work environment that brings the team together in real life, where possible, for celebration, collaboration, and connection. Our team is across Canada, with members from BC, Ontario, Manitoba, and Nova Scotia.

For this role, we would like you to be located in the Greater Vancouver Area and you must be available to join us on-site at JW Marriott Parq Vancouver from 10am - 10pm PST on April 25, 2025.

We care deeply about a great team experience and value an inclusive culture that embraces diversity. We are committed to fair employment practices and will consider all qualified candidates fairly.
