The Associate Senior Scientist is responsible for leading research into nucleic acid design and production that will drive innovation at Cytiva.

This position is part of the Nucleic Acids & Nanomedicine group located in Vancouver, BC and will be on-site. At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

What you’ll do:

  • Plan and execute projects, as part of a diverse bioengineering team, for process and technology development programs within the Nucleic Acid Therapeutics field.
  • Provide day-to-day direction to project technical teams.
  • Demonstrate continuous integrity, credibility and positivity, and motivate others to do the same.
  • Continuously grow and adapt in a fast-moving field to keep yourself and the organization at the forefront of the Nucleic Acid Therapeutics field.

Who you are:

  • Bachelors or Masters with 6+ years’ experience, or PhD with 3+ years’ experience in biochemistry, microbiology, biotechnology, or a related field. Exceptional knowledge of mRNA, nucleic acids and associated biology/biochemistry principles strongly preferred.
  • Industry experience required in one or more of the following areas: bioprocess development, in vitro transcription, oligonucleotide delivery, lipid nanoparticle technologies, and/or downstream purification of nucleic acids.
  • Team leadership experience and project management experience is a plus.
  • Independent, detailed-oriented, self-starter with excellent analytical skills with the ability to multi-task and succeed in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal English communications skills with solid knowledge of MS Office and comfort with learning new software applications especially those for DoE and statistical analysis.

The salary range for this role is 90,000 - 115,000 CAD. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
