The Marketing & Sales Specialist reports to the Sr. Manager, Marketing & Sales at Flyover in Vancouver and is responsible for supporting the planning, development and execution of marketing and sales activities at Flyover. Working closely with the Pursuit Marketing and Sales teams and the Flyover in Vancouver operations team, the Marketing & Sales Specialist’s primary responsibility is to support the success of the overall operation by supporting the planning, development and execution of revenue strategies. The Marketing & Sales Specialist role is a generalist role with lots of opportunity to support revenue generating tactics including developing marketing and sales strategies, driving social media content, hosting in-market media, leading content development, supporting the production of marketing assets including on-site signage, sales tools and creative projects and developing industry relationships. Attention to detail and the ability to organize and prioritize tasks is important to be successful in this role along with the ability to foster inter-department collaboration. What is the compensation for this role?

The wage for this role is 60K yearly and a full breakdown of perks and benefits will be discussed during the interview process.

What will you do in this job?

  • Support the development and execution of Flyover’s annual and seasonal marketing plans and promotions
  • Lead the production of marketing assets such as on-site signage, sales tools and small creative projects such as sales collateral, print/digital advertisements, eblasts and website updates, etc.
  • Work closely with the project management team to roadmap creative projects and build out briefings
  • Support in the development, relationship management, and optimization of Flyover’s regional partner relationships and contracts including affiliates such as hotel partners and sightseeing companies
  • Develop marketing plans for B2B audiences including but not limited to affiliates, school groups, corporate events and other leisure groups
  • Support the Pursuit social media and content marketing teams by collecting content in the form of photo, video, and live video, as well as identify new content opportunities and channel management
  • Host in-market media; bloggers and influencers; and travel agents as required.
  • Generate ideas and lead partnerships that grow brand awareness and visitation.
  • Compile performance reports and work with the Sr. Manager, Marketing & Sales to turn data into actionable insights
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

What skills and experience do you need for this job?

  • 3+ years of experience in a marketing or communications role. Preferably in hospitality, restaurants, theatres, hotels, theme parks or resort environments
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in marketing, communications, advertising, public relations, or journalism preferred
  • Ability to work independently, stay organized and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to execute strategies and tactics
  • Strong interpersonal skills are essential including inter-department collaboration, relationship management and conflict management
  • Experience leading projects from conception to implementation and evaluation.
  • Proficiency in computer skills required, including MS Office, Adobe CS suite, digital marketing, Sharepoint and Asana
  • Excellent understanding of social media best practices
