Zurich Canada is looking for a Senior Risk Analyst to support and challenge the management of risks, in line with the Zurich Group Risk Management Framework.

As part of the second line of defense, the Senior Risk Analyst will report to the Zurich Canada CRO and be a key member of the risk management team. Your main responsibilities, as the Senior Risk Analyst, will be to become a trusted, independent, business partner providing robust challenge and insights to the first line of defense.

This is a 12-month hybrid contract role, covering a maternity leave of absence.

What You Will Do

  • Provide support in all risk management activities for selected business areas.
  • Provide senior risk management with information required to enable a 360-degree view of risk.
  • Conduct risk assessments according to priorities assigned.
  • Flag significant matters of concerning risks for assigned areas to senior risk management.
  • Provide support for Risk Governance and Risk Reporting processes (for example: Risk & Control Committee, Risk Reporting).
  • Provide support for Zurich Risk Policy Adherence and monitoring process.
  • Provide support for and conducting operational risk management activities (for example risk assessments or implementing other risk framework components).
  • Support senior risk management in partnering with business/functional management.
  • Compile risk reports based on available information, providing consistent and reliable information for risk-related decision taking.
  • Support the risk management function in the promotion of the Group Risk Management Framework to ensure it is sufficiently understood and implemented in the organization.

Job Qualifications

What you bring to the table

Required:

  • Bachelors Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Risk Management area.

OR

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Risk Management area.

AND

  • Ability to balance priorities and multi-task
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent customer focus
  • Strong analytic problem solving
