Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Resident Care, the Personal Support Worker assigned to the Behavioural Support (BSO) assignment will support the interdisciplinary team in care strategies to prevent, minimize and manage responsive behaviours in the long term care home

• Graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker course in Ontario, or equivalent
• Experience in long term care setting an asset
• Current CPR Certificate
• Training in U-First, Gentle Persuasive Approach, and Montessori is preferred.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Ability to take initiative, problem solve and time manage
• Ability to work independently as well as be an active, positive team player 
• Computer literacy
• Shift work, including days, evenings, nights and weekends
• Ability to speak and converse in Chinese an asset

Working Conditions:

• Considerable standing, walking, lifting and bending
• Exposure to all resident care elements through regular resident contact
• This is a Temporary Part Time for 1 year position
