As a member of the Trust and Settlement team, the Trust Account Analyst operates in a fast-paced environment with ties to both Financial Operations and Quadrus Investment Services Ltd. The Trust and Settlement team is responsible for settlement of all client trades, as well as reconciliation of individual client trust accounts. As a senior member of the Trust and Settlement Team, the Trust Account Analyst role requires in-depth knowledge of the Mutual Fund industry, a solid understanding of Quadrus Policies and Procedures and a background in Finance / Accounting. The incumbent must be able to work well independently with limited direction, as well as in a closely knit team environment.

What will you do:

  • Investigating Client Trust Account and Cash Account balances
  • Through a solid understanding of trade settlement processes and the detailed flow of client funds through numerous Quadrus bank accounts, work directly with a variety of internal stakeholders, including: Quadrus Admin, Client Cash Management, Accounting, Tax Reporting, Compliance, etc to resolve complex issues relating to client accounts.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the above-mentioned stakeholders to ensure issues are dealt with accurately and efficiently, within company and regulatory standards.
  • Routinely handle funds for trade adjustments as well as NSF recoveries
  • Review trade settlement queues and generate associated Cash Account activity.
  • Involvement with projects which have a direct impact on the Trust and Settlement area.
  • Business Analyst / System Testing functions as required.
  • Identify, document and track system defects, act as a liaison to the Business Systems Support Team to have these defects investigated/ resolved.
  • As a senior member of the Trust and Settlement team, develop an in-depth understanding of the functions of all roles on the team to provide leadership, training and support for other team members as required.
  • Assisting in providing auditors (MFDA, CIRO, Deliotte and internal) with the necessary requirements.
  • Deposit and Settlement of ETF’s and processing for monthly fees.
  • Investigating and accepting A$M payable and receivables.

What will you bring:

  • Preference will be given to candidates with working knowledge Quadrus’ business processes.
  • In depth understanding of the Mutual Fund and Segregated Fund Industries is required.
  • Familiarity with MFDA and CIRO rules and regulations
  • Post secondary education, preferably with a background in Finance or Accounting.
  • Superior analytical skills with the proven ability to multitask is a must.
  • Demonstrates initiative and posses a strong willingness to learn.
  • Ability to recognize when to escalate issues.
  • Proven ability to excel when faced with ambiguous and unstructured situations.
  • Professional and approachable with an emphasis on collaborative working relationships.
  • IFIC or Canadian Securities Course is an asset.

The base salary for this position is between $46,200 - $ 69,300 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
