We are racing ahead with an exciting product development roadmap to continue to delight our customers and to ensure that our users can generate the very best possible tax research answers in the service of their clients in record time.

A Note on Location

We are excited to meet with qualified candidates and are grateful for everyone’s interest, however this is a hybrid position that requires applicants to be within driving distance of Toronto for 1-2 in person meetings a quarter. All candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for Account Executives who are eager to make an immediate and significant impact in a huge, untapped market. As we grow, we need enthusiastic self-starters who are ready to contribute meaningfully to our success.

In this role, you'll collaborate with leadership to develop territory strategies and generate qualified sales opportunities. You’ll play a crucial part in the sales process, working to negotiate and close deals.

Our ideal candidate is inspired by our mission and motivated to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative, and rapidly growing company.

What To Expect

  • We’ll work closely with you during your onboarding to support you as you quickly ramp up on our processes and our market. By the end of onboarding you will have:
  • Developed a deep understanding of how Blue J delivers and adds value to our customers.
  • Learned our product and completed a successful presentation, discovery, and demonstration for our prospects.
  • Designed a learning plan with the Head of Sales that will help you ramp up on the sales process and learn best practices on prospecting, discovery and lead nurture
  • Presented a territory plan on how you will meet your sales quota. Established a cadence and series of efficient repeatable processes.
  • Overall, your role will involve:
  • Managing the sales pipeline
  • Conducting in-depth product demos to potential customers.
  • Proposing and negotiating pricing.
  • Providing prospecting training and strategies to Business Development Representatives.
  • Maintaining LinkedIn presence, promoting marketing material and connecting with industry members
  • Meeting or exceeding monthly and yearly sales goals.
  • Attending trade shows and conventions (virtually or in person, depending on COVID restrictions and safety).

What You Offer Blue J

  • You’re a trusted advisor who can build strong relationships with customers and colleagues. You have a history of success in sales positions, and you can tell us about it.
  • You have business acumen: you’re somebody comfortable discussing all but the most technical facets of our products, and you’re the “go-to” for our customers.
  • You have intellectual curiosity, a willingness to try out new sales techniques, and a personal commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • You’re a team player with empathy for colleagues and customers. You’re driven by competition but never at the expense of your team. You seek out opportunities to collaborate cross functionally and build relationships
  • You're adaptable. You understand that growth stage companies are constantly evolving, and you need to be flexible in your approach and expectations. You are open-minded and positive, seeing the opportunity and excitement in periods of growth and change.
  • You’re accountable. You do what you say you’re going to do, and are comfortable rolling up your sleeves to get deep into the numbers, track down the data, and deliver on short timelines with the resources of a startup company.
  • You’re customer-obsessed. You deeply understand and care about our product’s value, who loves it, and why Blue J is the best and only option
  • You're excited about what we’re doing! You want to be an early contributor to one of Canada’s rapidly growing companies and are genuinely invested in sharing in our success!

A Bit About Us

  • We’re well-funded and offer competitive base salaries and stock options. You’ll play a crucial role in our growth, and it’s important to us that you share in our long-term success.
  • We are taking an exciting, highly anticipated new product into a virtually untapped market at a time when there is a huge amount of buzz around the type of work that we do. You’ll have the opportunity to work at our growing organization, and play a meaningful role in our expansion
  • We've got great leadership and you'll get to work with and learn from team leaders with a proven track record of success in the technology industry
  • We’ve got an amazing team. We’re mission-driven and motivated by success, but we’re friendly, we’re collaborative, and we care about each other. We’ve got all the start-up perks you’d expect, and are intentionally building a culture where you can pickleball if you want, feel safe to be yourself at work, and watch your career grow because your team has invested in you
  • We care about you. You’ll have a healthy work/life balance and colleagues who respect it. We’ve mindfully put together a great benefits package that covers you and your whole family
