About The Role

We're looking for a Corporate Commercial Lines Specialist to join our growing Digital Underwriting team and explore new underwriting solutions!

This position can be located in Toronto, Ajax, Mississauga, London, Montreal, Laval, Calgary or Edmonton.

What You'll Do Here

  • Through effective use of critical thinking skills, generate and present new ideas and solutions to challenges
  • Contribute to the development of strategies and corporate guidelines to effectively control insurance risks and to positively impact profitability
  • Contribute to the communication, change management, and collaboration needs of initiatives
  • Support system and tool enhancements
  • Collaborate with other departments such as Distribution, Operations and Planning, Data Analytics to seek creative solutions
  • Contribute to the overall planning, design, and delivery of current and new products
  • Foster the growth and development of our Digital Underwriting tool kit including Contact 2.0 and our Underwriting Advisor to drive user autonomy
  • Deliver digital guidelines and tools to improve technology and to support distribution to increase profitability and ease of doing business.
  • Explore and lead initiatives to create and evolve digital underwriting solutions within Intact's suite of online underwriting tools and resources.
  • Provide analysis to assist in the planning, design, and delivery of current and new digital solutions.

What You Bring To The Table

  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of relevant P&C Commercial Lines Underwriting experience
  • Strong knowledge of commercial P&C wording, products, appetite and philosophies, along with underwriting guidelines, systems and procedures
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with the ability to consider different perspectives and approaches
  • Ability to identify and recommend learning and training opportunities and propose solutions and action plans
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to collaborate, promote partnerships and build effective work relationships
  • Self-driven and able to work effectively under pressure
  • Can adapt to changes in the workplace positively
  • Good understanding of Intact underwriting systems and office software applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designated or working towards the designation
  • Bilingual (French and English) - For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country
