Summary

The Connected Technology team is looking for a platform solutions engineer. As a solutions engineer you'll help to design solutions, provide technical guidance on those solutions to those building it, and assist with documentation about those solutions and help educate users of those solutions on how to use them. Connected Technology is responsible for building and maintaining EA's centralized, always-on, automated messaging program that's used to create engagement across digital channels. You will report to the Sr. Platform Solutions Engineer. This is a fixed-term (12 months) contract role. The position is hybrid at one of the following EA campuses: Seattle or Vancouver, BC.

Responsibilities

  • Create technical documentation, including blueprints and change management documentation.
  • Build, test, and deploy technical solutions within our email marketing platform, and help test solutions that require building by our engineering team.
  • Help manage the scripts and HTML email templates in our email marketing platform.
  • Manage technical updates to our transactional email templates and trigger configurations within our email service provider.
  • Troubleshoot and help to solve problems in a highly visible environment.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of email marketing experience
  • 3+ years of experience with major email service provider (ESP) platforms, including their scripting language.
  • 3+ years of free hand (expert) HTML, CSS, and JSON experience
  • 3+ years of free hand (expert) SQL experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.

Skills

  • Sound technical foundation, with the ability to understand complex technical concepts.
  • Understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.
  • Experience writing technical blueprints and creating wireframes.
  • Knowledge of marketing-related software and tools, such as SQL, API, JIRA / Confluence (or similar project management and collaboration platforms).

Compensation And Benefits

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the range and benefits for your specific location.

EA has listed the base salary ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

BASE SALARY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):

º $89,300 - $123,000 CAN Annually

  • Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):

º $92,600 - $135,600 USD Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity. For British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity. "
